CareerWorks and BAWIB Will Host a Two-Part Employer Information Session

Wondering how to find qualified employees to continue running your business successfully? The On-the Job Training might be your answer! Learn how your company can get wage reimbursement of up to 90% to train new employees; also learn about the Registered Apprenticeship Program.
David Wallace, Deputy Director from the Department of Labor Standards, Division of Apprentice Standards, will provide an overview of the Registered Apprenticeship program including what it is, the benefits of and tips for implementing a successful apprenticeship program.
Melissa Scibelli, Manager of Workforce Development Interventions at the Regional Employment Board of Hampden County will discuss the On-the Job Training program. The session will explain the benefits of the On-The Job Training Program, the amount of available funding and how to get started. The On-the Job Training Program assists employees with the cost of hiring and training a new employee. It enables a company to hire new employees and train them at their place of business while being reimbursed a percentage of the new employee’s wages during training. The reimbursement is determined by company size and is either 50%, 75% or 90%.
A local company who has utilized the program will explain their experience with the program and answer any questions from a business point of view.
