Through Mass Development’s AMP It Up! Grant awarded to the Brockton Area Workforce Investment Board (BAWIB), BAWIB, Bridgewater State University’s (BSU) Institute for Policy Analysis and Regional Engagement (IPARE); and BSU’s Management Department have partnered to identify the gap between employer needs of Advanced Manufacturing hiring and training for developing the regional workforce and the programs, curriculum and certificates that are currently being offered at the community colleges, colleges, universities and vocational technical schools within BAWIB’s region in southeastern MA. Two interns at BSU have been researching these local post-secondary offerings and plan to share their findings with the BAWIB Board members and some manufacturing company HR Directors in June. BAWIB and BSU also plan to share this information with local teachers and guidance counselors through a professional development event at BSU in June 2016 .
